Tuesday was great because we go to explore Mound Key which used to home to the Calusa tribe. The day was spent identifying varying types of shells. Which were then used to hypothesis how the Calusa lived when they lived in that area. To the surprise of some of us a news article was written about our escapades at Mound Key making many of us happy especially my friend Emily whose name was were the first words of the article, talk about exciting.
Thursday was the day that my group got to go Shark Fishing and we were not disappointed. We left bait buoys at varying locations and waited for about an hour before revisiting our sites. My friend Autumn pulled in the first catch of our day, a male nurse shark, she was beyond herself with excitement to say the least. But who could blame her? Overall the week at Vester was on of the best so far and I'm excited for what the Key's Marine Lab has to offer.
